Just a 38 minute car journey from Asada’s home in Osaka, Japan, is Kobe’s Sanbo Hall – where the ‘Ninja’ picked up $3,000 and the title in becoming the fourth thrower to seal an Asian Tour title this year.

Asada, 38, began his campaign in a dominant fashion, as he whitewashed Yukihiko Higuchi, before beating Tzo Hao Tai 5-3, despite averaging just 70.3. Another whitewash following for the Japanese sensation; this time Nobuyuki Ishii was on the receiving end of a 5-0 thrashing.

The Okaka-based ace then denied Nobuhiro Yamamoto in a 5-3 victory, before a narrow win over World Championship participant, Lourence Ilagan – in which he suffered match darts – put Asada into his second PDC Asian Tour semi-final of the weekend.

Paul Lim – a two-time champion on the PDC Asian Tour – was next to endure a whitewash exit at the hands of Asada, with the eventual champion averaging 103 in a scintillating showing. 38-year-old, Asada, sealed the deal with a 5-3 win over Hong Kong’s Royden Lam in the final.

The first four legs went with throw in an eventful final, before Lam pulled away with an all important break of throw. But, that was only for Japan’s Asada to reel off three legs in succession, including a 14-darter in the closing leg to clinch the title.

Elsewhere, PDC Asian Tour 3 winner, Haruki Muramatsu, and Filipino duo, Christian Perez and Lourence Ilagan, all exited at the quarter-final stage, while Noel Malicdem suffered a last 32 defeat, despite his average soaring over the 100 mark.

The next PDC Asian Tour weekend will be held in at the Leyte Academic Center on March 30-31, where a further two events will be held in the third of six double-headers this year.
