JDC pay tribute to Tommy Cox
The JDC have renamed their World Championship trophy the Tommy Cox Trophy, after one of the founding members of the PDC and tournament director sadly passed away recently.
If it wasn’t for Cox, darts may not be where it is today and it is fitting that he will be remembered in such a fashion, with the youth aspect of the game having grown so much and the JDC world final being played on the Alexandra Palace stage. Also inducted to the Hall of Fame, Cox ‘devoted his life to the sport’, according to his son Danny, who was speaking to pdc.tv. He added ‘It is fitting that the champions of tomorrow shall set out on their darting journeys by competing to lift the trophy that bears his name. He was a huge fan of the JDC and all it stands for‘.
