Jenkins claims second successive Modus Icons of Darts crown

Andy Jenkins claimed his second successive Modus Icons of Darts Live League title on Monday afternoon after winning four of his five matches.

Jenkins claimed the spoils on Saturday after scuppering the hat-trick hopes of former world champion Scott Mitchell.

The former World Championship semi-finalist commenced his campaign on Monday with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Friday’s winner Fallon Sherrock, punishing the global sensation for handfuls of missed darts at double.

He then endured his first and only defeat of the afternoon at the hands of Ritchie Edhouse, before immediately returning to winning ways with checkouts of 114 and 124 in a narrow 5-4 win over David Evans.

Jenkins subsequently swept aside emerging youngster Jarred Cole, prior to capping off his successful afternoon’s work with a slender 5-4 win over three-time world champion Martin Adams.

The Portsmouth-based ace recorded a 95.32 average and ran out a narrow victor, despite squandering 12 darts at double.

Phase Three of the Modus Icons of Darts Live League resumes on Tuesday morning as world champions Scott Mitchell and Mark Webster headline the six-player field.
