Jirkal and Koltsov seal European Tour qualification

Russia’s Boris Koltsov and the Czech Republic’s Pavel Jirkal sealed European Tour qualification and will therefore feature in upcoming European Tour events.

Jirkal – who came close to securing his two-year PDC tour card two weeks ago in Hildesheim – will make his European Tour debut at the opening European Tour event of the year in Leverkusen, while Koltsov will appear on the European Tour for the second time at the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim.

Prague-based Jirkal defeated Tamas Alexits, David Pisek, Pavel Drtil and Pal Szekely en route to the final, before seeing off another who came close to securing a PDC tour card in Sebastian Steyer of Poland to clinch his place at the European Tour opener in Leverkusen.

Russia’s Koltsov enjoyed wins over Petr Rouc, Jacub Kaspar, Pal Szekely, Sebastian Steyer and David Rosi to seal his spot at the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim – a place where he didn’t have too much success during European Qualifying School a few weeks ago.

We could potentially see another Eastern European thrower at either of these upcoming European Tour events with Polish duo Krzysztof Ratajski and Tytus Kanik playing the European tour card holders qualifier in March.

The European Tour will commence on March 22 with the German Darts Open in Leverkusen. The German Darts Championship will then take place the following weekend at Halle 39 in Hildesheim.
