King and Puha deny Robb in a DPA Double

Robbie King and Haupai Puha were the winners of DPA Pro Tour Events 14 and 15 on Friday with both players denying Ben Robb in their finals.

Event 14 winner Robbie King started off with wins over Greg Major, Clayton Collins and Mick Lacey to reach the quarter finals. At that stage, he saw off James Bailey, a winner of 4 DPA titles so far in 2019 and the most recent at Event 13 the day before. In the semi-finals, he defeated another DPA winner this year in Raymond O’Donnell 6-3. In the final, it was a tight affair, but King came through by 6 legs to 4 despite Robb hitting 5 180’s to King’s 1.

In Event 15, it was Haupai Puha who was the winner coming through 6 matches with wins over Kim Emmerton, Jack Deveries, Dave Littleboy, Koha Kokiri and Event 14 winner Robbie King in the semi-finals. In the final, it was comfortable win 6-3 with a 90.4 average to deny Robb a title for the 2nd time in 1 day.

Robb reached Event 14 final with wins over Emma Watkins, Marshall Allen, Mike Bonser, Steve Fitzpatrick and Damon Heta. In the Event 15, he saw off Mark Taafe, Alex Evans, Marshall Allen and Fitzpatrick and Heta at the same stage for the 2nd straight event.
