Ladbrokes Masters draw: World champion Wright faces Cullen

Newly-champion world champion Peter Wright will take on Joe Cullen in his first tournament since his triumphant World Championship campaign, with the Ladbrokes Masters draw being confirmed.

The first tournament of the new season will see the world’s top 16 collide at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, as Michael van Gerwen sets sights on defending his crown for a fifth consecutive year.

Van Gerwen will begin his bid of lifting a sixth successive Masters crown against Welshman Jonny Clayton, as last year’s finalist James Wade faces back-to-back World Championship semi-finalist turned Masters debutant, Nathan Aspinall.

Gerwyn Price, the world number three, makes his third Masters appearance in taking on Simon Whitlock in a repeat of their World Championship meeting, while world champions collide in Adrian Lewis and Rob Cross.

Both Michael Smith and Mensur Suljovic will be hoping to put their World Championship woes behind them as they lock horns in round one, whilst two-time world champion Gary Anderson and Ian White clash and Dave Chisnall takes on Daryl Gurney.

The Masters will take place from January 31-February 2 in Milton Keynes, with the tournament schedule being confirmed in due course.
