Modus Icons of Darts: Jenkins claims third crown as Phase Two comes to a close

Andy Jenkins claimed his third title as Phase Two of the Modus Icons of Darts Live League came to a close on Saturday afternoon.

Jenkins, who had previously reigned victorious on two occasions prior to the conclusion of Phase Two on Saturday, won four of his six matches to claim the spoils.

The former World Championship semi-finalist commenced his campaign with a 4-2 win over Thursday’s winner Mark Webster, before enduring defeat at the hands of Ritchie Edhouse – who averaged 97.29 and reeled in a mesmerising 170 checkout.

Jenkins immediately returned to winning ways with four out of seven on the doubles in a comfortable win over Jarred Cole, prior to being whitewashed by former world youth champion Arron Monk.

After falling to get a single dart at double against Monk, ‘Rocky’ recorded an impressive 98.79 average in thrashing David Evans – a result which would prove pivotal in the eventual outcome on Day Six.

In his culminating clash of the afternoon, Jenkins produced a doubling masterclass in a 4-2 victory over former world champion Scott Mitchell, clocking a 100 per cent checkout rate.

Phase Three of the Modus Icons of Darts Live League commences on Monday morning, with further details regarding the revamped format arriving on Sunday.
