PDC Autumn Series: Draw revealed for Players Championship 14 in Niedernhausen

The draw has been revealed for Day One of the PDC Autumn Series, with 128 players vying for Players Championship 14 success in Niedernhausen, Germany.

The H+ Hotel Conference Centre will host professional darts for the first time as the world’s elite compete in five consecutive £75,000 tournaments.

Saturday’s action marks the return of the ProTour after two months since the Summer Series, with the same ‘bubble’ environment and restrictions in place in Germany.

All 128 players, including 12 replacements from the Challenge Tour, were tested for Covid-19 upon their arrival to the venue, and following their retrieval of a negative result, they will be enable to leave the building for any reason.

Number one seed Gerwyn Price faces recent Northern Irishman Mickey Mansell, while reigning world champion Peter Wright takes on Bedlington-based Callan Rydz.

Michael van Gerwen has a massive opportunity to change his form over the course of the next five days, and locks horns with Poland’s Krzysztof Kciuk in the first round.

Premier League table-topper Glen Durrant faces the self-proclaimed pub player who turned professional Aaron Beeney, as Stockport stars Nathan Aspinall and Mark McGeeney encounter one another.

Michael Smith and four-time women’s world champion Lisa Ashton also collide in round one, while Daryl Gurney faces Gavin Carlin and Rob Cross takes on Marko Kantele.

Krzysztof Ratajski, who is seeded third, faces Scotland’s John Henderson, while Portuguese sensation Jose de Sousa meets Damon Heta in a repeat of their one-sided World Championship clash.

Play is scheduled to commence from 12pm local time in Germany (11am in the UK), with the action streamed live via PDC TV and various bookmakers’ websites.
