PDC Unicorn Development Tours 7 & 8

Ryan Meikle and Callan Rydz secured wins on Sunday as the 2nd weekend of Development Tour action concluded at Wigan’s Robin Park Tennis Centre.

Following wins for Jeffrey De Zwaan and Corey Cadby on Saturday, Meikle claimed his second title of the year and Rydz claimed his first ever. In Event 7, it was Meikle who claimed victory with a 5-2 win over Andrew Davidson in the final with a 93.2 average. Wins over John Brown, Nicolai Rasmussen, Jacob Gwynne, Mike Van Duijvenbode, Nathan Rafferty, Geert Nentjes and Harry Ward secured Meikle’s place in the final and going on to win his 2nd event of the year following his win in Development Tour 3 in March.

In Event 8, Callan Rydz claimed his first PDC Title with victory over 8 times Development Tour Event winner and Premier League Contender Luke Humphries 5-2 with an incredible 106.6 average. Having reached the Quarter Finals of the 1st Event of the day, Rydz moved through to the final dropping just 8 legs and 7 of them came during the Quarter and Semi Final ties. Wins over Oliver Kay, Stephen Rosney, Adam Paxton, Dylan Powell, Keelan Kay, Kevin Doets and Mike De Decker secured Rydz’s place in the final.

Saturday’s Winners De Zwaan and Cadby both met in the first event at the Last 64 stage where Cadby came out a 4-2 winner but then went out 4-2 to Harry Ward. In the next event, De Zwaan lost out in the Last 32 4-3 to Tom Lonsdale and Cadby in the Last 16 4-3 to Connor Scutt.

Darts Planet TV’s and 2018 JDC World Youth Championship Finalist Lennon Cradock had a run to the Last 32 in Event 8 narrowly losing out 4-2 to Mike de Decker following back to back Last 64’s on Saturday which included a narrow 4-3 defeat to Jeffrey De Zwaan in Event 6.

The Development Tour returns between 8th-9th June at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes with Events 9-12 with all Live Scores and Results at tv.dartconnect.com.
