Darts Planet TV Magazine - Issue 17

£2.50

Hi there, and welcome to issue 17 of Darts Planet TV Magazine.

It’s been a frantic month for the team, with several changes to PDC plans, new franchises and organisations being formed, and news coming in almost regularly.

→  Sneak Peek

Sadly, the 2020 BetFred World Matchplay will not take place in Blackpool for the very first time in its 26-year history, but, safety comes first, and the facilities at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes are first class, as shown in recent snooker events held there. We hope that this is a temporary move and that darts with fans can resume as soon as it is safe to do so. It is bittersweet that we have chatted to some of the finest champions to grace the Winter Gardens stage in Larry Butler, Peter Evison Rod Harrington and Colin Lloyd, but their memories only serve as a reminder of just how good darts being played at the iconic venue is.

Hi there, and welcome to issue 17 of DartsPlanet.tv magazine.

It’s been a frantic month for the team, with several changes to PDC plans, new franchises and organisations being formed, and news coming in almost regularly.

Sadly, the 2020 BetFred World Matchplay will not take place in Blackpool for the very first time in its 26-year history, but, safety comes first, and the facilities at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes are first class, as shown in recent snooker events held there. It is bittersweet that we have chatted to some of the finest champions to grace the Winter Gardens stage in Larry Butler, Peter Evison Rod Harrington and Colin Lloyd, but their memories only serve as a reminder of just how good darts being played at the iconic venue is.

We have also seen the introduction of the PDC Summer Series, and it will be intriguing to see who snatches the Matchplay spots on offer with a good set of form across the five events counting towards the ProTour and PDC Order of Merits. The feel-good factor has continued with the work on the County scene with the UKDA, and the formation of an exciting new Steve Brown led venture in MAD, and we will have an exclusive interview with Steve in next month’s issue.

Finally, our best wishes go to charismatic Sky Sports darts commentator Rod Studd, who sadly suffered a stroke back in May. Thankfully, he is on the mend with the aid of the fantastic NHS medical team behind him, and we look forward to his always insightful commentary alongside Wayne Mardle as soon as is safely possible. All at DPTV wish Rod a speedy recovery.
