Steven Bunting New Gen 3 Release
Target Darts release new STEPHEN ‘THE BULLET’ BUNTING DARTS
England Dart manufacturer Target Darts have come up with a new generation 3 of Stephen Bunting darts.
Stephen has been through a lot the last couple of years having a drought in wins and questioning his belief and performances on the oche. But the last six months or so has seen a dramatic upturn in his mental strength and it is showing in his darts. I’ve been impressed with his peformances of late and hope it continues. Target have been teasing us for a while with a new setup and here it is.
Stephen has said that these are the closest to the darts he had when winning the BDO Masters and Lakeside championships.
The darts themselves have a smooth feel to them much like Ted Hankeys and Terry Jenkins old designs but also a mix of Dennis Priestley with a front loaded design barrel. They have been designed to Bunting’s exact specifications. He knows what works I guess. Who am I to question a former world champion!
The barrel is smooth, with a grip provided by the ergonomic shape of the barrel. They come complete with black short Pro-Grip stems and the Bunting G3 Pro Ultra flight. The only thing I would change on these are the points, they come with a 26mm point which for me is too small in length and susceptible to bounce-outs.
THE ‘BUNTING’ PRO ULTRA Flights
The signature Bunting flights feature a spot UV print to enhance flight to shaft grip. This striking and detailed design is included in the Bunting G3 Dart. They are available in the standard NO6 flight design which are smaller than normal standard but achieve the same flight trajectory as normal standard.
The darts retail at £38 according to Target on their website www.target-darts.co.uk
WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
- 3 x Dart Barrels
- 3 x Pro Grip Vision Shafts
- 3 x Stephen Bunting Flights
- 3 x 26MM Nickel Point
In my opinion I think they are a well designed dart from a proven manufacturer and a top player. At £38 they are not overly priced for a players dart, and I think could be a very popular dart. As I said earlier, I would change the points and I could see myself throwing with these at the 23 gram range. They are a lot better looking than the gold version he had out on a previous generation.
The Liverpool ace Bunting plays either Luke Humphries or Adam Hunt in round 2 of the PDC World Championship on the 20th of December.
Come on the Bullet.
