US Darts Masters Order or Merit after two qualifiers

Yesterday we received news of the first two qualifiers of the US Darts Masters come in. Canada’s Jeff Smith and USA’s Leonard Gates taking the honours for the first two qualifiers.

The winners of the four Qualifiers (two more today!) qualify for the US Darts Masters and they will be joined by the top four ranked players from the Qualifiers Order of Merit. The PDC World Series event in Las Vegas will be played on Thursday and Friday.

No one needs to introduce Jeff Smith – he has been on the world scene in both the BDO and PDC over the last few years and has won many ADO tournaments in North America – he was also the outright winner of the North American Championship last year.

Qualifier One

Quarter-Finals
Alejandro Reyes 4-1 Robert Phillips
Matt Campbell 4-1 Shawn Brenneman
David Cameron 4-1 Gary Mawson
Jeff Smith 4-2 Daniel Baggish

Semi-Finals
Matt Campbell 4-3 Alejandro Reyes
Jeff Smith 4-1 David Cameron

Final
Jeff Smith 4-3 Matt Campbell

Qualifier Two
Quarter-Finals

John Norman Jnr 4-3 Rod Snow
Darin Young 4-3 Gary Mawson
Jim Long 4-2 Joseph Chaney
Leonard Gates 4-2 Matt Campbell

Semi-Finals
John Norman Jnr 4-1 Darin Young
Leonard Gates 4-1 Jim Long

Final
Leonard Gates 4-2 John Norman Jnr

The same could be said of Leonard Gates, who maybe has not been as prominent on our screens in Europe but has won many many ADO and CDC tournaments and also won some soft tip tournaments such as the Soft Tip Dartslive Las Vegas in 2018 – so he likes the location!

Other well known players such as David Cameron, Dawson Murschell, Gary Mawson, John Norman Jr, Larry Butler, Chuck Puleo and Darin Young need to either win a qualifier or go deep to come up the OoM ranking.
