van Gerwen Signs With Winmau

PDC World number one, Michael van Gerwen has ended speculation regarding the new manufacturer of his darts by signing a long term contract with Winmau after leaving XQ Max Darts.

The five year deal was announced inside the plush surroundings of Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Thursday night, in front of assembled media and guests.

van Gerwen has used the same set up for his darts for eight years, and has been working closely with Winmau on a new dart that he will use going forward, and his arrows will be revealed within the next few days.

He will also sport a new playing shirt, which will be in keeping with his now customary neon green and black colours.

The Dutchman will be hoping the switch kicks off a new era of dominance following the disappointment of losing to Peter Wright in the 2020 William Hill World Championship.
